Katedra divadelních studií Filozofické fakulty Masarykovy univerzity v Brně ve spolupráci s Ústavem pro výzkum a studium autorského herectví DAMU v Praze dlouhodobě rozvíjí výzkum v oblasti kognitivní teatrologie. Spolupráce se zaměřuje na analýzu divadelních představení a inscenací, herecké improvizace a herectví s využitím teoretických a metodologických konceptů z oblasti kognitivních věd, psychologie vnímání a neuroestetiky. V našem výzkumu sledujeme například procesy tvorby a jejího vnímání, multimodální charakter divadelní komunikace či koncepty jako “embodied cognition”. Z hlediska kognitivních teorií se systematicky zabýváme inscenováním opery (obzvláště pojetím a vnímáním herce v režijně-scénografické koncepci), vztahem mezi performativitou a diváckou zkušeností, “4E kognicí", tvůrčí i recipientskou pozicí herce/performera. V příspěvku hodláme představit dosavadní výsledky naší spolupráce a otevřít diskusi o možnostech dalších intra- i interdisciplinárních propojení kognitivně vědných oborů. Zároveň chceme vyzvat kolegy, kteří se zajímají o kognitivně teatrologickou perspektivu, aby se zapojili do společného bádání. Cognitive theatrology in research, performance analysis and interdisciplinary collaboration

Department of Theatre Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno, in cooperation with the Institute for Research and Study of Authorial Acting at the Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU) in Prague, has been developing long‑term research in the field of cognitive theatrology. The collaboration focuses on the analysis of theatrical performances and productions, acting improvisation, and acting practice through the theoretical and methodological concepts of cognitive science, perceptual psychology, and neuroaesthetics. Our research investigates, for example, processes of artistic creation and its perception, the multimodal character of theatrical communication, and concepts such as embodied cognition. From the perspective of cognitive theories, we systematically examine opera staging (particularly the conceptualization and perception of the actor within directorial and scenographic frameworks), the relationship between performativity and audience experience, 4E cognition, and the creative as well as receptive positions of the actor/performer. In our presentation, we intend to introduce the outcomes of our ongoing collaboration and to open a discussion on possibilities for further intra‑ and interdisciplinary connections between cognitive science and theatre research. At the same time, we wish to invite colleagues interested in the cognitive-theatrological perspective to join this shared research endeavour.
