Diese Studie reflektiert neue Trends im Bereich der Translatologie und Übersetzungsdidaktik und beschäftigt sich mit der möglichen Verwendung von Dateianwendungen (CAT-Tools) im Übersetzungsprozess. Der Beitrag fasst die Situation auf dem übersetzerischen Markt zusammen, vor allem im Bereich der Übersetzung von Fachtexten, in dem sich diese Software als hilfreich und effektiv erwiesen hat. Der Übersetzungsprozess basiert auf fertigen Übersetzungen, die als Referenzmaterial für nachfolgende Texte benutztwerden. Dabei werden konsistente Terminologie, Erleichterung des Schreibprozesses und Verwendung von verschiedenen Wörterbüchern zu den Vorteilen. Nach der theoretischen Erörterung zum Thema CAT-Tools werden die Erfahrungen und Empfehlungen aus dem Unterricht (Elektronische Datenverarbeitung für Übersetzer und Software TRANSIT NXT) am Lehrstuhl für Germanistik der Universität Ostrava präsentiert.

This study addresses new trends in translation studies and translation teaching, focusing on the possible use of database applications by translators. The article responds to the increasing market penetration of translation software designed to make thetranslation process - especially in professional and technical texts - more effective and efficient. The process includes the use of existing translations as a basis for new translations, consistent handling of terminology, simplification of the writingprocess, and the use of dictionary-type databases. After offering a basic theoretical discussion of CAT tools, the article focuses on their use by translators, especially in terms of how to teach user skills to translation students. The author draws on his experience of teaching the use of CAT tools (the application TRANSIT NXT) at the Department of German Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Ostrava.
