Das Kapitel befasst sich mit der Problematik der Fachtexte in Lehrwerken. Am Beispiel von Biologielehrwerken wird analysiert, wie die ausgewählten Fachwörter in die Textstruktur eingegliedert werden, wie sie aus der Perspektive der Textverständlichkeit erklärt werden und auf welche Art und Weise Bildmaterial die Präsentation von Fachwörtern unterstützt. In dieser Hinsicht werden die analysierten Lehrwerke miteinander verglichen, wobei die Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede von Präsentationsstrategien in Lehrwerken sowohl für verschiedene Altersstufen als auch für verschiedene Schultypen skizziert werden.

This chapter addresses the issue of specialist lexis in textbooks. Taking the example of biology textbooks, the chapter analyzes how selected specialist terms are incorporated into the structures of the texts, how they are explained in order to make the text comprehensible, and how the presentation of these specialist terms is supported by visual (graphic) material. The analysis compares selected textbooks, tracing common features and differences in the presentation strategies used in textbooks aimed at different age groups and different types of schools.
