Émergence d’une terminologie : l’energie photovoltaïque

Le secteur des énergies renouvelables s’est considérablement développé au cours des dernières décennies. L’article vise à analyser la terminologie de l’énergie photovoltaïque en tenant compte du fait qu’il s’agit d’un domaine d’émergence récente, à l’intersection de plusieurs disciplines, dont la physique, l’astrophysique, la chimie et la technologie. En tant que tel, il est confronté au problème de construire sa propre terminologie. L'article examine les processus terminologiques spécifiques à ce domaine, en les comparant aux processus traditionnels de formation des termes, y compris les moyens morphologiques, syntaxiques, sémantiques et les emprunts. En outre, il traite de certaines spécificités de la terminologie de l'énergie photovoltaïque, en particulier d'un degré élevé de synonymie terminologique, typique précisément de disciplines nouvelles, terminologiquement encore peu stables. Pour l’analyse, les auteurs ont utilisé les termes contenus dans la Lexique panlatin de systèmes photovoltaïques élaborée par le Réseau panlatin de terminologie.

The sector of renewable energy has grown considerably over the past decades. The article aims to analyse the terminology of photovoltaic energy in consideration of the fact that it is a recently emerged field, standing at the intersection of several disciplines, including physics, astrophysics, chemistry, and technology. As such, it faces the problems of building its own terminology. The article examines the terminological processes specific to this field, comparing them with the traditional processes of term formation, including morphological, syntactic, semantic means and borrowing. In addition, it deals with certain specificities of the terminology of photovoltaic energy, particularly a high degree of terminological synonymy, typical precisely of new, terminologically still not very stable disciplines. For the analysis, the authors used the terms contained in Lexique panlatin de systèmes photovoltaïques developed by the Réseau panlatin de terminologie.
