In der Gegenwart dringen Fachwörter immer intensiver in unseren Alltag ein. Sie werden oft nicht nur in ihrem ursprünglichen fachlichen Kontext verwendet, sondern auch in andere Kontexte gestellt, wobei sie dann zur Erläuterung von Sachverhalten dienen, die mit dem Fachbereich, in dem sie normalerweise gebraucht werden, nicht zusammenhängen. In neuen Kontexten erscheinen Fachwörter in übertragener Bedeutung, d. h. sie werden metaphorisch verwendet. Dabei werden bestimmte semantische Merkmale dieser Fachwörter neutralisiert, so dass nur ein Teil davon stark hervortritt. Unsere Untersuchung ist auf die Verwendung von Musikfachwörtern in übertragener Bedeutung in der Automobilbranche gerichtet. Anhand der Analyse der Artikel aus der Zeitschrift Autobild wird gezeigt, welche Merkmale in den neuen Kontexten hervortreten und welche Funktion hier Musikfachwörter erfüllen.

Nowadays, professional terminology is penetrating our everyday lives with increasing intensity. Terms are often used not only in their original professional context, but also in other contexts, where they serve to explain content unrelated to the field in which they are normally used. Professional terms in new contexts are used metaphorically, conveying figurative meanings. In this process, certain semantic elements of professional terms are neutralized, so that only a part of their meaning is foregrounded. This research focuses on the use of musical terminology in the automotive industry. By analyzing articles from the magazine Autobild, we will show which elements are foregrounded in the new context and which functions musical terminology performs.
