The research on the topic “School education in the pandemic and post-pandemic era in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia”(no. 22210036), was financed with the means of the International Visegrad Fund and realized in cooperation of three partners, the University of Opole (Poland), the University of Ostrava (Czech Republic) and the University of Presov (Slovakia). The scientific goal of the project was to find out about teachers’ assessment of the functioning of school communities in the situation of pandemic, with a particular taking into account the forms of distance education carried out in selected primary schools in Poland, Czechia and Slovakia. The research was carried out on the quantitative and qualitative procedures. This quantitative part was done with the use of the diagnostic survey method involving a group of 300 teachers of primary schools based in the three partner countries divided into two groups due to their professional experience, up to 18 years and more than 18 years. The results showed the scope and possibilities of teaching in the system of distance education and can help create a model for schools and other education centres forced to organize and provide education in crisis situations that societies face.
