The text reflects the Viktor Veleks research from the period of 2008-2011. The introduction focuses on the phenomenon of Slavic Vienna of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The following part briefly defines tamburitza music and the proces of its dissemination. This is followed by the methodology, focusing on the possible criteria that can be used to approach of the history of the Slavic tamburitza players in Vienna. The core of the study consists of the short profiles of Slavic tamburitza societies in Vienna. One of the conclusions is that Vienna was s sort of ?transit hub? of tamburitza music on the way from tohe Balkans to the Czech lands.
