This article deals with the issues of barrier-free use of transport interchanges. It focuses on four basic criteria of a barrier-free environment, namely safety, accessibility, availability, and compre- hensibility. These are presented using two examples of transport interchanges in the Moravian-Silesian Region (Ostrava-Main Station and Havířov-Bus Station). The objective of this research is to raise awareness of ample problems of barrier-free environment.
