Le pôle d?échanges se présente comme un véritable outil d?intermodalité et aussi comme un point important de rabattement de personnes vers le transport en commun. Pour augmenter son attractivité, il est important que le pôle d?échanges puisse remplir, eneffet, trois fonctions : transport, services et insertion urbaine. Le coeur du présent travail consiste ? analyser la derni?re de ces fonctions, en pratique souvent délaissée. Ainsi, apr?s une présentation du contexte, une liste de " crit?res " de l?insertion urbaine est proposée, avant de mener une réflexion sur la mani?re dont ces derniers pourraient contribuer ? une évaluation de la dimension urbaine des pôles d?échanges.

Interchange stations are a key element of intermodal transport systems, and have a role in promoting public transportation. Besides the basic function of connecting multiple transport lines or modes, we find that interchange stations attractiveness is enhanced by other characteristics: a supply of services to passengers, and a proper integration into the urban environment. The core of the present work is an analysis of this last element, which is hardly ever studied despite its great importance. After acontextual presentation, we propose a list of ?criteria? for urban integration of interchange stations, and finally, we discuss the possible contribution of these criteria to an evaluation of the urban dimension relative to the interchange stations.
