This article deals with the issue of barrier-free public places in connection with the development of the Czech legislation. The issue is presented in case study of the significant regional transport junction in Ostrava - Svinov that connects the railway, bus and public transport. The text focuses on appraisal and evaluation of completeness, continuity and correctness barrier-free adaptations which were executed in the area of the transfer junction since 2000 in relation with Regulation number 398/2009 and the previous legislation (regulation no. 369/2001 and 492/2006). The study pursues four basic criteria of barrier-free places, as well as the appropriateness and quality adjusted public space.
