Of the few alternative types of primary schools operating in Czech Republic, there are only three types situated in Ostrava city: Waldorf School, Montessori and Healthy School. This article deals primarily with the last one mentioned. As the name itself testifies, it is the school taking into consideration the overall and complex health of the child. It belongs to the project of the World Health Organization (WHO) which is also involved the Czech Republic. Healthy school seeks ways to create a child&apos;s physical, mental and social well-being. The aim is to create an overall healthy atmosphere at school, which is based on three basic pillars: environment comfort, healthy learning and open partnership. There are currently three elementary schools in Ostrava being part of the project Healthy School. One of those three is intended for children with special diseases. None of these schools has a building corresponding to the character and stated goals of the Healthy School unfortunately. Hence we tried to find a suitable plot of land in the city of Ostrava together with students of the architecture studio and to design an ideal Healthy School. This article presents two studies of two students of the 5th year on this subject.
