The paper deals with the design and implementation of the workplace for imaging and afterwards measurement of the plate in the area of the carotid artery. We describe the development and testing of the device for imaging of the arteriosclerotic plaque inthe area of the carotid artery and we focus on the software development for the analysis and measurement of the plate depicted on the ultrasonography images. The 3D image creation requires gaining 2D image data, followed by a3D reconstruction. The paperdescribes the extension of the standard ultrasonography probe by taking advantage of the precise setting of the probe and synchronization with the heart activity. As the synchronization signal ECG from the patient monitor is used. The system based on the microcontroller (generating control commands for the CD30M unit) is used to solve this assignment. The algorithm created in this processor generates commands for the control unit, which is synchronized with the patient monitor signal co
