Image Analysis Methods for Detecting Driver Fatigue and Drowsiness (2016)
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The contemporary level achieved in the area of hardware and software makes it possible to create the software for checking the driver and its ability to drive the car. For monitoring the driver, the methods based on detecting the eye and its parts can be used. For obtaining a more complete information about driver's behaviour, a 3D model of the whole driver body can also be used. In the model, the positions of the main body parts visible in the camera (head, neck, shoulders, elbows, palms) are recorded and tracked. In the previous common projects of Volkswagen and VŠB (2015 and before), quite a lot of work has been done in this area. The algorithms for detecting the eye, iris, pupil, lid and gaze direction have been developed and connected into a working chain. From many points of view, however, the existing solution requires further efforts; e.g. adapt our solution to the multi-camera system which can improve the reliability of the detector. In this technical report, the main ideas, experiments, and results are shown.
