Effects of seam thickness variation on the risk of rock bursts
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The active anti-burst measures covers also the creation of a zone preventing rock bursts around mine workings. The width of this zone is defined by the seam thickness and the depth of its deposition below the surface. This paper analyses another influencing factor, namely the variation of seam thickness. A seam of permanent thickness acts very differently from a seam of variating thickness. If seam thickness increases with distance from a mine working, the risk of rock bursts is considerably eliminated. On the contrary, if seam thickness diminishes with distance from a mine working, the risk of rock bursts grows significantly. The problem of rock bursts in case of seam thickness decreasing with distance from a mine working can be solved in two ways. The first method is based on a significant extension of the zone that prevents rock bursts from occurring. The second method assumes the use of different segments of mine-working support, which can prevent side protrusion of a seam into a m
