The paper deals with the results of a partial study pursuing an analysis of landscape elements changes in the selected area of Přívoz and Muglinov affected by former mining activities. This old mining area represents a partial interest area out of totalnine planned areas (1a, 1b, 1c, 2a, 2b, 2c, 3a, 3b, 3c). This model area No.2a is defined by three aerial photos from 1946 (603, 605, 606) and extends into four map sheets in the 1:10 000 scale (map sheets numbers are as follows: 15-43-04, 15-43-05, 15-43-09, 15-43-10). The monitored area stretches in the cadastral district of Ostrava, municipalities of Přívoz and Muglinov, next it partly extends to Heřmanice, Michálkovice, Petřkovice and Slezská Ostrava.
