Traffic accidents are among the most frequently analyzed negative aspects of transport, and tend to concentrate in certain locations, or road sections. Tools of spatial analysis applied to localized data on traffic accidents allow quick location of specific segments and intersections with an above-average incidence of traffic accidents. However, traffic accidents are a specific type of point data mostly due to the limited space in which they occur. For this reason it was necessary to use an adjusted process of the traditional methods for the assessment of their spatial distribution. The paper presents selected approaches for evaluating the spatial distribution of traffic accidents in the Czech Republic for the period 2009 to 2013. Road sections have not been analyzed globally, but the network is divided separately for road sections and for intersections.
