Mining in our country has a long and rich history. Over the centuries, mining activity took place in many locations which thanks to the economic grows very quickly. Mining was giving together a large part of the population which mined in these areas. Importance and seriousness of this profession is also reflected in dress uniforms which over the centuries have developed. This development followed the traditional military uniforms, for example head covers. Today ceremonial miners' uniform consists of several components. The first is a fez with fedrpus (ie. plume on the helmet) with badges that express association with a particular mine. It is followed by perkytle (ie. miner's mantle) with buttons, colourful tassels and embroidery. Other parts of the miners' uniform are decorative ax (ie. Svancara or kylof - miner's pickax) at higher professions sometimes wore a saber. These components include to uniforms which are worn by miners from Ostrava-Karvina district during festive occasions. Historical development of uniforms from this region corresponds to the meaning and importance, but also mining events in each period of development of the company.
