Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This 5-day international course called Geoscience Summer School will provide undergraduate, and graduate students with a broad understanding of complex raw material handling with a focus on environmentally friendly exploitation in the conventional deposits of mineral raw materials and prospecting for new rare metal sources, which helps to reduce raw material dependence on outside sources. The programme covers aspects of all the steps related to this long process starting with the methods of the Earth observation, measuring and gathered data processing focusing on the processing of data from UAVs and satellite images (including presentation of UAVs and high-tech sensors) and modern ways of geodetic measuring, including photogrammetry and LIDAR. Participants will also explore issues of economy, management and marketing applications using a presented case study of mining company operation assessment. Our experts will introduce principles of mining of mineral resources and present various tests in specialized Laboratory of Mineral Processing. Participants will also be acquainted with selected laboratory equipment used in mineral processing and have the opportunity to do short experiments. Integral parts of the Geoscience Summer School are practical demonstrations and excursions. All participants will practically try the available analytical equipment (e.g. 3D visualization, virtual and augmented reality). You will explore high-end Laboratory of Rock and Soil Mechanics of the Institute of Clean Technologies for Mining and Utilization of Raw Materials for Energy Use, Laboratory of Wells and Hydrocarbon Deposits Simulation, Scanning Electron Microscope, Geological Laboratory, and RFID Lab. During excursions, participants will visit our unique special purpose departments - the Geological Pavilion and the Planetarium Ostrava and one of the Ostrava landmarks and most prominent brownfields in the city, the Ema Dump, and will learn about its history, present, and future. The icing on the cake will be a half-day excursion to a black coal mine in the region with a visit of its deep underground (or another field trip to a mining locality). Geoscience Summer School is a unique experience to gain knowledge in geoscience and raw material from our leading experts.
