This paper deals with the study of thermal expansion coefficient of real steel grades. Two real steel grades were investigated and their thermal expansion coefficient and density were obtained. The dilatometric measurements were performed on the NETZSCHDilatometer DIL 402C/7 device. Both quantities were also computed using Thermo-Calc software with TCFE7 database. Comparison and discussion of experimental and computed data was performed. Investigated quantities are valuable for many SWs used for technological processes modelling. These data are also very useful for thermodynamic and kinetic modelling. Obtained data can serve for addition and enhancement of many thermodynamic databases.
