Economic crisis which started in 2007 influenced many areas of the economic policy of the individual countries. One of the most serious problem is the rapid increase of the share of the unemployment individuals in all involved countries. To struggle withthis problem many countries provide huge amount of money to the active labour market policy with belief that it´s tools will help to solve this problem. The aim of this article is to compare active labour market policy in the chosen countries during period 2007?2011. In the presented paper will be described main reforms of the active labour market policy in the PIIGS countries (Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece, Spain) and the Czech Republic within given period. In the following part will be used regression analysis of panel data to verify whether funds spent on the active labour market policy are useful in the chosen countries.
