Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Seniors, or more precisely adults aged over 50 years, is continuously growing group with increasing count of interests and social needs. These interests and social needs are unavoidably confronted with the very fast changing world of information and communication technologies including still more sophisticated web pages, anywhere connected smartphones, tablets and wherever available social networks. In our research we asked more than 3800 respondents in the Czech republic about their everyday experiences in using the ICT mentioned above and we also made the comparison whether the seniors in the age group 50+ (represented by 1020 respondents) are less proficient in these technologies than other groups of adults. In our research we used the index of ICT common proficiency to measure skills in this area and differences have been researched also in subgroups divided by the sex and important demographic and personal indicators such as population of resides, education, family economical situation and professional orientation. Although the results of research showed the nowadays decreasing level of ICT proficiency with growing age the trend is clear: the ICT proficiency among the group od 50+ is gradually growing up and as we can expect in the next few year it will be comparable with much more younger adults.
