Curriculum Adjustments For Increasing The Efficiency Of Ict Education Of The Elderly According To Their Ict Proficiency
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The increasing of ICT proficiency of the elderly is one of the key objectives of lifelong learning today. As we have already proved, seniors have very different levels of ICT proficiency. We have distinguished four basic levels of ICT proficiency, from a very low level of ICT proficiency to a very high, almost professional level. The ICT courses for the elderly are usually designed as general courses, and their efficiency seems to decrease. In this paper, we suggest a simple instrument, based on the tool used in the above-mentioned research, and instructions on how to change the ICT course curricula in four areas: usage of smartphones with mobile data, usage of computers in everyday situations (e.g. simple text preparation, internet searching, maps, geo-location), communication online, and social networking. We believe that these four areas are important for coping in most situations when information and communication technologies are used in everyday life. For each of these areas and levels of ICT proficiency, we suggest recommendations for curriculum adjustments and educational aims.
