Der Beitrag behandelt die starke Verbindung zwischen der Olmützer Gelehrtengesellschaft und der Wiener Metropole. Deren durchgängige Unterstützung der Verbindung, die der ehemalige Offizier Petrasch in der mährischen Provinz gegründet hatte, ermöglichte schließlich auch die Herausgabe eines Journals - dem ersten aufgeklärten wissenschaftlichen Rezensionsorgan in den habsburgischen Ländern. Die Gelehrtengesellschaft belohnte diese Hilfe dadurch, dass man sich immer loyal zur Kaiserin und der Dynastie verhielt und durch den Kampf um mehr Aufklärung die repressiven Kräfte der Jesuiten zurückzudrängen vermochte.

The article deals with the strong bond between the learned society and the capital of the Habsburg Empire. The Empress and her government helped the society througout its existence. Petrasch, a former officer in the Habsburg army, founded also a scientific journal - with the help of the empress and her circle of advisors. In return for the support from Vienna the society and its journal tried to propagate the values and the knowledge of the Enlightenment in the Habsburg Monarchy, especially fighting against the repressive forces of the Jesuit order in Olomouc.
