El presente trabajo persigue estudiar la convergencia y divergencia entre dos variedades del español que entran en contacto: la variedad hablada en México y la variedad hablada en Granada a partir de la disponibilidad léxica. El léxico disponible es un conjunto de palabras que los informantes tienen en su lexicón mental, y su uso está regido por un tema (llamado centro de interés) concreto de la comunicación. El objetivo es descubrir qué centros de interés son más permeables e impermeables a la acomodación léxica de la comunidad mexicana radicada en Granada. El análisis del léxico está basado en los datos recabados de 50 informantes. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que los centros de interés Alimentos y Ropa son los más impermeables a la acomodación hacia la variedad residente. La Ropa, a su vez, es el centro de interés más permeable junto con Escuela: muebles y material escolar. El centro de interés Animales, por su parte, posee el número más alto de palabras con mayor índice de disponibilidad que son compartidas por ambas variedades estudiadas.

This chapter studies the convergence and divergence between two varieties of Spanish that come into contact: the variety spoken in Mexico and the variety spoken in Gra- nada based on lexical availability. The lexical availability is a set of words that the informants have in their mental lexicon, and its use is controlled by a specific topic (called center of interest) of communication. The objective is to discover which centers of interest are more permeable and impervious to the lexical accommodation of the Mexican community living in Granada. The lexical analysis is based on data collected from 50 informants. The results obtained show that the centers of interest Food and Clothing are the most impervious to the accommodation to the resident variety. Clothing, at the same time, is the most permeable center of interest together with School: furniture and materials. The Animals center of interest has the largest number of most available words that are shared by both varieties.
