Het symposium was gewijd aan de transfer van Nederlandstalige literatuur in de landen van Oost-Centraal-Europa in de periode 1945-1990. Speciale aandacht werd gewijd aan de interactie tussen vertalers, uitgeverijen en de censuurorganen. Het symposium vond plaats in het kader van de viering van 75 jaar neerlandistiek in Moravië en het levensjublieum van prof. Wilken Engelbrecht. De gepresenteerde lezingen waren daarnaast deel van het project Socialistische Transnationaliteit en de Transfer van Nederlandstalige Literatuur, gefinancierd door de Nederlandse Taalunie.

The symposium was devoted to the transfer of Dutch-language literature in the countries of East Central Europe in the period 1945-1990. Special attention was devoted to the interaction between translators, publishing houses and the censorship bodies. The symposium took place within the framework of the celebration of 75 years of Dutch Studies in Moravia and the life jubilee of Prof Wilken Engelbrecht. In addition, the lectures presented were part of the project Socialist Transnationality and the Transfer of Dutch Literature, funded by the Dutch Language Union.
