In this paper, the features of Korean onomatopoeias and ideophones will be examinedand discussed in general as well as in certain types of texts in which we can registerhigh occurrence of Korean onomatopoeias and ideophones. These are literary texts,with a particular reference to children's literature, comic books, newspaper headlines,and informal electronic communication, and special attention will be paid to thetelevision show overtitles. Some of the specific phenomena that occur in these texts willbe presented.
