The paper focuses on institutes ensuring the independence and impartiality of the administrative courts and judges in the Czech Republic. The author carries out a critical analysis of the individual guarantees of the independence of the courts and of the independence and impartiality of the judges, points out the problematic aspects or possible contradictions of the statutory and constitutional regulations. Following the deficiencies found, the author formulates the proposals de lege ferenda, in particular the establishment of the Supreme Judicial Council.
