Der Beitrag versucht die Frage zu beantworten, wann und wo der Anfang des Wortes εὐαγγέλιον als eines Schlüsselbegriffs der christlichen Theologie liegt. Die ausschließliche Verwendung der Singularform im Neuen Testament kann als ein Indiz des nichtliterarischen und frühen Gebrauchs gelten. Obwohl man nicht behaupten kann, dass das griechische Wort schon Jesus benutzt hat, kann man es aber auch nicht völlig ausschließen. Der Ausdruck εὐαγγέλιον als ein theologisches Schlüsselwort beginnt wohl schon bei den Griechisch sprechenden Juden in Jerusalem oder jedenfalls bei den dortigen Judenchristen, die an den charakteristischen Zügen der Botschaft Jesu interessiert waren.

The article tries to answer the question where and when the beginning of the Greek word εὐαγγέλιον as a keyword of Christian theology lies. The exclusive use of its singular form in the New Testament can be seen as a sign of its non-literary and very early usage. Although it cannot be claimed that the Greek word was used by Jesus himself, this cannot be entirely excluded, either. Most probably, the term εὐαγγέλιον as a keyword of Christian theology probably began in Jerusalem with the Greek speaking Jews or in any case with Jewish Christians who were interested in the characteristic features of the message of Jesus.
