Název v původním jazyce
Temporal and spatial variation in virulence of natural populations of Bremia lactucae occurring on Lactuca serriola
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The research was focused on study of virulence structure of B. lactucae (lettuce downy mildew) populations occurring on natural populations of Lactuca serriola (prickly lettuce) in the Czech Republic and its spatial and temporal changes. Totally 132 isolates of B. lactucae collected from naturally infected plants of L. serriola during the period 1998-2000 were used for v-factor analysis. V-factors were determined on a set of 49 differential cultivars and accessions of Lactuca sativa and L. serriola. This set allowed to determine in total 27 v-factors and their combinations. Isolates of B. lactucae expressed great variation in their virulence on individual and population level. With the exception of v18, v36, v37 and v38 all recently known v-factors have been detected in B. lactucae populations. Generally, the highest frequencies were recorded for v-factors or virulences matching resistance located or derived from L. serriola. Variation was found in the presence of individual v-factors
