In different textbooks of mathematics we can find different pictures of solids. They are usually shown in floating parallel projection, most frequently by means of the right view from above. We were interested to know what impact this has on the students? ability to perceive pictures of solids and on their ability to solve stereometrical problems depicted by other views. In our work we state the results of the research of one test. Students were divided into four groups at random. Although they solved the same problems, the solids were depicted by floating parallel projection by means of the right view from above, the left view from above, the left view from below and the right view from below.
