The aim of this paper is the issue of labeling, normality and social deviation. I focus on the sociological and socio-psychological conceptions of the mentioned topics in light of their importance for pedagogy. The labeling approach is mainly focused onthe responses of formal institutions of social control, which have a constitutive function, and that is also i.a. school. Marked not only by the present but also by a presumption of devious behavior are mainly children and youth.
