The article deals with the issue of health physical education and its theoretical defi nition. It provides an overview of the possibilities of further education in this area and informs of the state of health physical education in elementary and secondary schools as well as in universities. Health physical education is based on the Framework Educational Programme and is classifi ed in the fi eld of Physical Education. The contents of health physical education are primarily compensatory exercises. Healthphysical education is focused on consolidating and improving the health of individuals with a physical impairment, which is based on an assessment of general practitioners for children and adolescents. Health physical education requires qualifi ed educators; however, there is still a lack of them.
