Systematic Review And (Aystematic) Scoping Review: Similarities Or Differences?
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
A scoping review is perceived in the family of systematic reviews as a type of brief information retrieval strategy. A systematic review (as an autonomous and prized strategy) is used to provide provisional results. In many cases, a published scoping review is the first step for processing e.g. a qualitative synthesis. However, it may be confusing to designate a study type as a "systematic scoping review", which inexperienced researchers can understand as a combination of a systematic and scoping review. A scoping review, however, has some similarities to, and at the same time differences from, a systematic review. Common features can be seen in the same phases of their elaboration, in the use of a research question, and in the work with studies (research, knowledge) – both types of reviews are in the same group, of the “review of literature” procedure. However, the nature and purpose of the research question remains a dominant difference. While the scoping review asks “What has already been published?”, “Where is the research gap”, “What literature (studies) is available on the topic and problem?”, etc., systematic reviews are considered a critical assessment strategy and an evaluation of the studies found that have met demanding criteria and precise work with the results, and thus provide valuable interpretations for providing information on current practice.
