The paper presents the partial results of a questionnaire-based quantitative research study among 351 employees in social services in the Czech Republic. The objective of the study is to identify, describe, analyse, and interpret the current situation in the area of partnerships, intimacy, and sexuality in persons with intellectual disability as perceived by the employees in residential social services in the Czech Republic. Another aim is to identify whether and how the issue and relevant attitudes have developed and changed over the past 15 years, and to examine any statistically significant correlations between the factors that could influence the attitudes of the employees to sexuality and sexuality education, respondents’ opinions, and the support provided in this area. The paper focuses in detail only on one of the factors, specifically the factor of coeducation in the establishments. The paper defines the theoretical background, describes the methods and methodology, and finally presents the selected results and conclusions of the research. In the area of the attitudes to partnerships and sexuality in persons with intellectual disability, a number of changes have taken place. Some of them are specified in the text.
