The music audio CD album "A Tribute To George Gershwin & the String Quartet" is the main output of the grant entitled Realization of studio audio recordings of four sheet music editions by Petr Vrána published by Universal Edition (Vienna, Austria) in 2021, reg. no. DSGC-2021-0031. The resulting studio album features the following music titles in arrangements for string quartet:1. George Gershwin/ Arr. Petr Vrána: Prelude 1 (Arrangement for string quartet)2. George Gershwin/ Arr. Petr Vrána: Prelude 2 (Arrangement for string quartet)3. George Gershwin/ Arr. Petr Vrána: Prelude 3 (Arrangement for string quartet)4. George Gershwin/ Arr. Petr Vrána: An American In Paris (Arrangement for string quartet)This studio recording project is based, among other things, on the conviction that positive tendencies and efforts to update Gershwin's extraordinary creative legacy, whether in the form of novel interpretive approaches or remarkable arrangement feats, do not always have to stereotypically come only from Gershwin's cultural environment, but can also be proactively initiated in our Central European environment. Not only in this respect, we undoubtedly owe a lot to the giant of world music, George Gershwin. The sound rendition of four arrangements of George Gershwin's compositions aims to demonstrate and deepen the expert knowledge and experience of the principal investigator of the aforementioned grant project in the field of music theory, performing arts and phonogram production. The main intention is to create technically and artistically professional and valuable sound recordings, comparable to foreign projects in the field of chamber music for string quartet. the resulting studio CD album is intended to be a reflection of a concrete creative artistic effort in the field of arranging and updated interpretation of classical music influenced by jazz and at the same time a tribute to the world-famous composer George Gershwin. The sound CD album is the result of the creative activity of the principal researcher (within the study programme Music Theory and Pedagogy) realized through artistic outputs and performances, which are recorded in the form of sound recordings on CD. The information content of the CD booklet was partly contributed by the mentor of the grant project (DSGS-2021-0031) prof. MgA. Petr Planý with the original English texts of the chapters entitled "Musical Content of the CD and Related Note Editions" on page 7 and "About the Author of the Arrangements" on page 11.In order to strengthen the professional and artistic credibility of the result, the CD booklet is accompanied by expert reviews by two foreign experts from the fields of music theory, music pedagogy, musicology and performing arts. Their reviews and consent to their printing in the CD booklet were provided by Prof. Mgr. Belo Felix, PhD. (Emeritus Professor of the Faculty of Education at the Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica (Slovakia)) and Prof. Graziano Semeraro from the Conservatorio di Musica Nino Rota - Monopoli (Italy). The CD cover has a "REVIEWED CD" label on the back. The individual sound files (.wav) of the resulting studio master were completed on 5 June 2022 and recorded as a four-track CD (.cda) on the respective CD media, which were subsequently produced in a total (limited) edition of 300. The standardised CD cover (in the form of a digipack) consists of a cardboard sleeve, an inserted booklet and the CD media itself, which is surface printed. The authenticity and transparency of the licensed music content for the purpose of possible release in the USA is guaranteed by the so-called "Seal of Authenticity", which is visibly placed inside the booklet and on the back of the CD cover. All components of the resulting digipack (CD media with printing, booklet and CD cover) meet the condition of mandatory publicity of the grant and the source project and for this purpose are provided with a text clause as follows: "Student grant research entitled "Realization of studio audio recordings of four sheet music editions by Petr Vrána published by Universal Edition (Vienna, Austria) in 2021", Reg.
