SENSE OF SECURITY AND ITS IMPORTANCE FOR THE SELF-ACTUALIZATION OF PEOPLE WITH SPECIFIC LEARNING DISABILITIES: A QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The sense of security in the case of people with specific learning disabilities is closely linked to positive and supportive feedback from the social environment (family, teachers, and peers), influencing the subsequent possibility of self-actualization, acceptance of appropriate work and social roles and the fulfillment of life goals. Since the level of self-concept and self-esteem is significantly determined, among other things, by the attitude of the environment, our sense of security is directly related to the certainty of non-judgment, non-judgementalism, and, therefore, the possibility of safe speech. 15 participants were included in the analysis of the domain of safety in the context of people with specific learning disabilities. The research is designed as qualitative. The data collection methods were 14 semi-structured interviews. Interviews were conducted with students with specific learning disabilities who are studying at university, professionals who work with clients with combined disabilities, of which specific learning disabilities are a part, and parents of children with specific learning disabilities. The interviews are illustrated by 1 case study of a woman with specific learning disabilities.
