  • Popis výsledku v původním jazyce

The article presents the results of the qualitative part of the study focused on the mapping of factors influencing the process of independence of young adults with disabilities, with a high level of need for support. The qualitative part of the research followed the search of systematic reviews and professional literature. Its aim was to describe the situation in the field of preparing children and young adults with a health disadvantage (with a higher level of need for support) for an independent way of life. And subsequently evaluate the influence of various types of support and services relevant in the process of independence of young adults with disabilities. The result of the research is a collection of strategies, supporting elements and comprehensive approaches that enable people with disabilities to acquire and train the skills needed for self-sufficiency and autonomy throughout the process of independence. An important insight is the interconnectedness of the process of independence for people with disabilities and their caregivers and families. These two parts of the process are interdependent and at the same time each has its own pace and factors influencing the course. The research was the result of cooperation with the authority of the contract research, the ABAKUS foundation, thanks to which it was possible to carry out the entire research.
