Frequency of finger movement and laterality of the upper extremity
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Our study aims to determine the existence of any differences between the frequencies of each finger movement and whether or not there is a relation between frequency of tapping and lateral preference of the upper extremity exist. The subjects were 39 adults (university students: 25 males, 14 females, age: mean = 21.7 years, age range 18-27 year) specifically selected for the purpose of creating two identical groups from the point of lateral preference of the upper extremity. Frequency of movement in naturally extended finger was measured during flexion - extension at the metacarpophalangal joint. Statistical analysis proved identical model of differences in the frequency of individual fingers in the dominant and the non-dominant hand in sets of the right-handed and the left-handed. The highest value of frequency was found in the II finger, whereas the first three fingers are on a higher level of frequency than the IV and the V fingers.
