Physical activity optimally practised in childhood considerably helps to decrease the risk of occurrence of civilization deseases in adulthood (cardiovascular diseases, obesity, osteoporosis, states of anxiety) and leads to an active life style. The keyaspect of optimally practised physical activity in childhood (particularly in girls) is the organised physical activity (physical education, training and practice lessons). The main aim of the study is to investigate the amount of organized physical activity in girls and boys from standard and sports classes and to express the amount not only by the means of duration but also by the means of active energy expenditure. 296 girls (mean age 15,7 years) and 82 bozs (mean age 15,2 years) from standard classes in the Czech Republic and Poland and 40 girls (mean age 13,5 years) and 76 boys (mean age 13,8 years) from sports classes in the Czech Republic took part in the research.
