The study concerns the screening of somatic characteristics in the group of male and female students of the University of Defence in Brno and in Faculty Physical Culture UP in Olomouc. these groups are subjected to higher intensity and amount of physicalactivity in the course of their daily occupation. There was carried out an anthropometrical examination and body composition was determined by the means of bioelectrical impedance (QuadScan 4000).Anthropometrical parameters were used for the determination of body composition by anthorpometrical methods, for deremination of body constitution and an individual proportionality and for the comparison of selected somatic parameters on basis of normalised indexes to the Czech population. As far as the body weight and height, as well as in other spectrum of somatic parameters, the university studens do not differ from ordinary Czech population.
