Age-related decline in physical activity is worldwide studied characteristic, not only in relation to obesity and overweight (Metcalf, Voss, & Wilkin, 2002). The main aim of this study is to characterize, developmental trends of physical activity, on thebasis of four-years semi-longitudinal monitoring of weekly habitual physical activity of adolescents. Semi-longitudinal monitoring of physical activity started in 2000. In this year 52 girls (age 16,02+/-0,57 years; body weight 57,22+/-9,31 kg; BMI 20,71+/-3,00 kg?m-2) and 25 boys (age 15,97+/-0,39 years; body weight 62,65+/-10,26 kg; BMI 20,13+/-2,88 kg?m-2) completed their monitoring. Habitual weekly physical activity was observed in the years 2000-2003. Nine boys and six girls finished all four periods of monitoring. All monitored adolescents wore accelerometer Caltrac and pedometer Omron continuously the whole day through excluding sleeping, bathing, showering, and swimming.
