The purpose of this study is to describe changes in physical activity and inactivity of secondary school students, who were monitored in tne years 2000 and 2001 and to describe the relation between physical activity and popularity of students in the class. In the year 2000 we monitored 53 girls [age 15.86 years (0.13), weight 57.19 kg (9.22)] and 35 boys [age 15.94 years (0.38), weight 62.5 kg (10.5)]. In the year 2001, 27 girls [age 16.98 years (0.36), weight 55.13 kg (6.85)] and 24 boys [age 17.14 years (0.48), weight 66.92 kg (10.82)] were participated in the same monitoring. Nineteen girls and fifteen boys participated monitoring in both years 2000 and 2001. Energy expenditure was estimated by Caltrac accelerometer, step count was estimated by Omron pedometer and activity and inactivity patterns were assessed by self-report. Popularity was determined using the method of comparative point assignment (Fraczek, 1980). As comparated to the year 2000 we notice a decrease in active energ
