Family stress and coping behaviour in families of children with hearing disabilities
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Research into family stress in families with children with hearing disabilities has been developed primarily abroad. On the basis of the available information from our professional literature, this concerns the first study in the Czech Republic concentrating on coping mechanisms in families with severely hearing impaired children. The three-year study with severely hearing impaired children formed by a sample of thirty two Czech families concentrated on coping patterns of behaviour during the course ofthe ordinary life of these families, and attempted to identify the basic resources sharing in successful coping. It ensues from Hill?s classic ABCX model of family crisis, and is also applied to new theoretical models, of which one of the most recent isMcCubbin?s resiliency model of family adjustment and adaptation. The main methods were visits to families at home, which is a modern research method requiring a considerable amount of time and also places personality related preconditions
