Paper deals with a problem of regional independent trade in Czech Republic, especially with fast-moving consumer goods. Regional independent trade means small and medium sized retail and wholesale enterprises operating on one or several regional marketswithout capital linkage to big companies abroad. The attention is aiming to, so called, trade alliances which are trying through primarily common purchase from suppliers and obtaining better conditions, central invoicing and mutual financing of promotionactivities to obtain competitive advantage mainly with comparison with multinational trade chains. These cooperation groups are joining together individual members which are private small and medium sized retail or even wholesale firms. They negotiate and purchase through common centre from cooperative suppliers which are able to offer more profitable trade conditions (quantitative discounts, lower prices, longer period of maturity) due to economy of scale.
