Myths about Ageing Population - Findings of A Research

Purpose of the article: One of the global issues that nowadays affect (whether to a greater or lesser extent) all countries in the world is ageing. Scientific aim: In March 2013, research was conducted by the students of the Lifelong Learning Institute of the Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic). This research was aimed on the problematic of Age Management. The purpose of the study was to find out what myths and images are linked to the employment of older workers. Methodology/methods: Duringthe implementing of the study both qualitative and quantitative methods were used. First, the interviews were conducted with selected elder employees followed by a discussion in the focus group. Then on the basis of the obtained data the questionnaire was developed and distributed. A sample of 140 respondents divided into four age groups took part in the research. Some myths regarding seniors' motivation and priorities during their retirement age were denied.
