Development of transport infrastructure in the South Moravia Region
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This paper focuses on road transport, which is operated on the roads. Roads include motorways and main roads up to class 3, including expressways. The aim of this paper is to analyse the development of the infrastructure of the road network in the years from 2010-2015 in the South Moravia Region, including funding incurred for construction, modernization and repair of the road network. The existing road network is not in the best condition due to prolonged lack of funds for construction, maintenance and rehabilitation of roads. Funds spent on roads and highways are inadequate despite the fact that in recent years they show a slight increase in both investment spending and spending on repairs and maintenance of road infrastructure. For the realization of investment projects considered in the construction and modernization of the road network of the Czech Republic is also supported by the European Union. These funds represent a great benefit, especially from the Operational Programme Transport, which was approved by the European Commission for the period from 2014 to 2020. Part of this program will be allocated out of 4.70 billion. EUR for the development of road and rail infrastructure.
