The effect of the content of FeHCF in feed additives on 137-Cs uptake into broiler chicken meat
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Broiler chickens were used to examine the effects of different amounts of hexacyanoferrate (FeHCF) in feed additives on radiocaesium uptake into meat. The 137Cs was administered orally as an artificially contaminated feed mixture, either as a single (3 kBq, to 14-day-day old chickens) or repeated dose (ca 150 Bq, twice a day for 10 days, i.e. 3kBq in total). The base of the additives was a natural clay mineral (aluminium silicate, clinoptilolite) and the content of FeHCF was 0%, 2% and 7% in additive A,B and C, respectively. The additives were added in doses of 5 g kg-1 of daily feed consumption, and the C additive also in doses of 0.2 g d-1kg-1 of live weight and 0.6 d-1kg-1 of live weight. The addition of binders to the feed started within two hoursof application of 137Cs. After a single dose of the contaminated feed mixture the increased FeHCF concentration in administrated feed additives A, B, and C resulted in increased reduction of 137Cs in broiler chicken meat during a period
