Název v původním jazyce
The time of supplementation of the feeding additive and its effect on the reduction of radiocaesium uptake in broiler chicken.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The effects of the time of supplementation of BIFEZH (a sorbent containing cellulose and 7-10% of hexacyanoferrate, Eksorb-Chernobyl, Jekaterinburg, Russia) to the feed mixture on 137Cs transfer from contaminated feed into the breast and thigh meat of broiler chicken was studied. Feeding of the binder started 24 hours prior to or immediately after 137Cs application; and 6 days after the first application in the case of repeated administration of 137Cs. Single (3 kBq/chicken) or 10-day-repeated (0.5 kBq/chicken/day) oral doses artificially contaminated with 137Cs were administered to 2-week-old chickens. To achieve a successful and higher reduction effect on the 137Cs transfer from contaminated feed into broiler chicken meat, BIFEZH should be supplemented into the 137Cs contaminated feed mixture prior to, or in the earliest possible time after, starting to feed the mixture.
