The paper assesses social capital and focuses on measurements of regional differences of individual social capital. An analysis is coherently focused on the community social capital. Results are obtained from the questionnaire survey based on the reviewof 750 questionnaires distributed in the model regions - Vysocina Region and the South Moravian Region in the Czech Republic. Majority of the respondents represented a group of respondents who take a neutral standpoint in helping each other out these days. Differences in examined regions were identified in the area of lending and borrowing money in the village (43 % respondents agree somewhat and 11 % respondents agree strongly in Vysocina Region, in the South Moravian Region 44 % agree strongly and and17 % agree somewhat. The matter of lending and borrowing money indicates the transactional side of social capital and indicates the high mutual trust among individuals in model regions.
