Uso ritual de plantas en el tratamiento de drogadicción en el Centro Takiwasi

Este estudio de caso cualitativo describe los diferentes rituales asociados al uso de plantas que se llevan a cabo en el Centro Takiwasi como parte del protocolo de intervención terapéutica en el tratamiento de adicciones. Desde un enfoque etnográfico, se ha realizado observación participante durante trabajo de campo longitudinal, revisión de la literatura científica y recolección de testimonios personales de participantes. Fue posible distinguir cuatro categorías principales de rituales y concluir que el ritual tiene una importancia fundamental, afectando los efectos de las plantas. En este contexto es crucial el papel del curandero, que no solo administra plantas de forma ritual, sino que incide sobre los efectos y transmite conocimientos.

In this case study, the different rituals that are carried out in the Takiwasi Center for the use of plants as part of the therapeutic intervention protocol for the treatment of addictions are described. Participant observation has been performed during the longitudinal field work, as well as a review of the scientific literature and collection of personal testimonies from participants. It was possible to distinguish four main categories of rituals and conclude that ritual is of fundamental importance, affecting the effects of plants. In this context, the role of the healer is crucial, because he not only administers plants in a ritual way, but also influences the effects and transmits knowledge.
